Travel Essentials

travel-essentials

Hi All, I’m back. I took a little break from the blog because there was a lot of life happening and I wasn’t able to give the blog as much time as I wanted to. Things have started to settle down and I am finding I have a little more time. I have some things planned for the blog for the rest of the year that I am very excited about and hope to continue blogging into the new year.

You might have noticed on my Instagram that a few months ago I went to Europe. It was a super special girls trip with my Mom and Sister that we had been planning for about a year and a half, and it was AMAZING! Before I get into the details of the trip I wanted to share my travel essentials. I think this topic is super relevant now since it is the start of the Christmas season and the height of travel.

Since I have lived far from home for about 8 years now I have had a lot of experience traveling. And in that time I have come to find there is a handful of essentials that I take on each and every trip. So if you are planning any kind of trip in the near future these are a few of the things I recommend bringing. These would also make great gifts for the traveller in you know for Christmas.

Passport and passport holder: Obviously this will depend on the type of trip you are taking but because we are going over seas I wanted to get a little passport cover. Not only is it super cute, but it keeps your passport safe and you have a place to hold your id or credit cards if need be. This is super helpful while going through security so you can have everything in one place.

Travel Pillow: I prefer the ones that attach in the front, that way if you fall asleep and your head falls forward it will be more comfortable. It also makes it easier to attach to your suitcase so it doesn’t get lost.

Wrap: I always find airports and airplanes really cold, not only is the wrap super cozy and fashionable but you can wear it as a scarf or a blanket. I took a similar wrap with me to Europe and I literally wore it everyday, I even inspired my Mom and Sister to get one because they are so practical.

Sleep mask and cozy socks: These help make to flight just a little more tolerable and comfortable, especially for overnight or long flights.

Snack bars and a collapsible water bottle: Healthy alternatives to the expensive airport food.

Entertainment: I always bring my kindle and/or an iPad for reading and watching movies and some headphones. These skull candy ones are my favorite and block out noise really well.

Sunglasses and Tennis shoes: I am loving these pink sunnies and theses super cute new balance tennis shoes that are not only great for travel but also if you are going to be walking a lot on your trip.

Portable charger: Because you can never be too prepared. This is also great if you accidentally forget your wall charger.

Refresh after your flight: Especially if you are going on a long flight, traveling can dry out your skin very easily. I recommend bringing a tinted lip balm, a great moisturizing under eye cream, and a perfume pen so you don’t smell like you’ve been traveling all day once you get to you destination. This truffle see through pouch is perfect for carrying all of these small products.

What are your travel essentials? Let me know in the comments below. As always thanks for reading and I can’t wait to share all my photos when I return.
